Defending Champions: Kristin Shifflett (Senior), Mimi Hoffman (Super Senior)
SENIOR & SUPER SENIOR FORMAT
- 18-hole stroke play qualifying to determine flights and/or seeding for match play.
- Players must choose whether they wish to attempt to qualify for the Championship flight or not.
- The low 16 scorers of those players attempting to qualify for the Championship flight are placed in the Championship flight and are seeded by qualifying score (all players attempting to qualify for the Championship flight must complete the qualifying round).
- All non-championship flights will be flights of eight (8) based on Handicap Index.
- If all players in a given flights complete the qualifying round, the players will be seeded by qualifying score.
- If all players do not complete the qualifying round, the players will be seeded by Handicap Index.
- The Handicap Index the day before the first day of competition will be used.
- Those players losing their first-round match will be placed in a consolation flight.
The committee reserves the right to adjust the flight size based on the number of entries received, if necessary.
Championship Proper
August 24 – Stroke play qualifying
August 25 – Round of 16 matches
August 26 – Quarterfinal matches (consolation matches begin)
August 27 – Semifinal matches
August 28 – Final matches
Non-Championship Proper (All Other Flights)
August 24 – Stroke play qualifying
August 25 – Quarterfinal matches
August 26 – Semifinal matches (consolation matches begin)
August 27 – Final matches
PRIZES
Senior
- The overall champion will have their name engraved on The Presidents’ Cup.
- The medalist’s name will be engraved on the Belle Allen Trophy and will receive a VSGA medal.
- All flight winners and finalists, including consolation flights, will be awarded prizes.
Super Senior:
- Prizes will be awarded to the overall champion and finalist.
- The medalist will receive a VSGA medal.
- All flight winners and finalists, including consolation flights, will be awarded prizes.
A prize will also be awarded to the club that has the most players competing in both events (senior and super senior combined).
PRACTICE ROUNDS
- Available Sunday, August 23rd.
- Fee: $75 plus tax (includes range balls)
- Call the Pro Shop at (540) 839-7739 to make a practice round starting time. Be sure to identify yourself as playing your practice round for this event. Do not just show up.
